Tasha Hylton
I am a Bristol based photographer and for me photography is an outlet to tell a story, make a statement & capture moments. Aligning with my feelings I navigate through creating personal work to capturing fashion, to up close & personal portraits. Connecting to the moment & the keeping that real human element is important to me to remain authentic in my work.
Being of Jamaican heritage I am finding ways to explore my culture, race & identity through photography, working with digital & analogue film formats. Creating series & visuals that depict memories & moments I have experienced. Starting with my series BLK L.O.V.E which has recently exhibited at the To Shine A Light / Who Dared to Dream exhibition at the Royal Photographic Society, Bristol. The New Black Narrative exhibition at the Royal West Academy, Bristol. Alongside other artists within the city who are part of the Black Creatives Bristol collective.
I have been awarded the British Journal of Photography 'Portrait of Britain'. Along with being featured on Photo Vogue, for Lomography Film & Digital Camera Magazine. As well as been published in various fashion magazines with my perosnal fashion stories.
I enjoy connecting with like minded people where we can contribute & bounce ideas to achieve the best outcome for all.
